Accuracy verses Fluency

Accuracy and fluency are the two parts of language. For becoming an ideal person accuracy and fluency both are important important. Accuracy refers to the use of correct forms where utterances do not contain errors affecting the phonological, syntactic, symentic or discourse features of the language. It refers to the correctness of language being produced by the speaker. It is the ability to produce grammatically correct sentence. Accuracy is the clear and articulate speaking and writing. In this it is important to spelled words and /or pronounced it correctly. The language should be appropriate to the situation and/or context.
Fluency is derived from the Latin word fluens which means "to flow". It may be defined as the ability to get across communicative intent without too much hesitation and too many pauses to cause barriers or breakdown in communication. It is the ability to read /speak accurately, quickly and with appropriate intonation and expression. In this the speaker is comfortable using the language and can be reasonably understood by other speakers of TL. In fluency the speaker speak with a good but not necessarily perfect command of intonation, vocabulary and grammar. Fluency produce written and/ or spoken language which ease. We can communicate ideas effectively.
Accuracy help the students to achieve accurate perception and production of a target item which can be sound, a word, or a sentence structure. In schools and colleges teachers has to be accurate. They have to be fluent and accurate both but for them accuracy is more important for the teachers. Fluency help students to practice language in listening, speaking, reading and/or writing activities to so develop fluency in using the language in spontaneous communication. In a restaurant, the waiter have to be fluent because fluency is important for him rather than accuracy.
Both depends on the purpose of speaker. The two concepts are different but both work together as a part of language.
